The Kia Sportage cements its place as the leading Family SUV.
The Kia Sportage has always been a respected family vehicle and now that reputation has been cemented thanks to the all-new model taking home top honours in the Family SUV category at the prestigious Womens World Car of the Year or WWCOTY awards.
The WWCOTY judging panel comprises 56 leading female motoring journalists from 40 countries. As part of the judging criteria, the Kia Sportage was reviewed together with other leading family-friendly SUVs launched in 2021, where it drew praise from all the judges across multiple judging criteria.
Being a family SUV, judges paid close attention to the Sportages cutting edge safety features, while also taking into account the model’s pleasurable driving experience, comfort, technology, class-leading design, impressive fuel economy, low environmental impact, and overall value for money.
The judges were also impressed by the Sportages intuitive interior design, which, given its exterior dimensions, still affords the Kia with class-leading legroom and headroom, making it ideal for family trips. Coupled with the spacious interior, the models high-tech driving and conveniences were also lauded for allowing the occupants to enjoy comfortable and connected journies.
The Sportage was one of 65 entrants which were judged by the WWCOTY jury who assessed these vehicles across 6 categories. These categories included Family SUV, Urban Model, Large Car, Luxury SUV, Performance Car and 4×4. The Kia Sportage will now be put through its spaces against the winners in the other categories as they battle it out for the title of Best Car of the Year, which will be announced on International Womens Day.
